Because Trump and Republicans politicized COVID-19, and because the Republican cult knows they totally screwed up the response to it but can't admit it, costing hundreds of thousands of American lives, the Republican cult want to deflect and shift blame. Some of it is attributable to the racism inherent and running rampant in the Republican cult, as it provides an opportunity for them to hate on Asians. But even if it was a lab leak in China, Trump and Republicans would still be responsible for the excess senseless American deaths they caused through their Big Lies and homicidal criminal negligence. None of which is stated for political reasons, but because it's just the sad, shocking truth, and they need to be held accountable for that.
