That has benefited GOP politicians, as well, but at tremendous cost to the nation. Decades of such programming has birthed a hyper-partisan Republican cult that ignores realities and seeks to win by whatever means, seeing Democrats as an existential threat. Which is ironic, because that is precisely what the GOP has become with their Orwellian mindset.

Do they actually hope to convince others by insulting them, or are they really only trying to convince themselves?
