  1. You're always flying against the pilot more than the airplane. The landscape of Korea and Vietnam are littered with the bones of pilots in superior airplanes who were shot down by other pilots in inferior aircraft. There are MiG-21's shot down by bomb laden guns only F-105's, MiG-15's shot down by an AD-1 Skyraider, or F4U Corsair, F-4 Phantoms shot down by MiG-17's. Heck there is even a HUD vid of an A-10 with a perfect guns track on an F-16 desperately trying to get out of the A-10's gun piper. There are living F-14A drivers (yes the plane with the flameout prone engines) who were known to take on F-15C's at 40,000ft where the Eagle rules and kick the ego driver's ass and out turn the F-16C's. As for the F-14, it was limited by the Navy to 6.5g but was routinely flown to 7.5 and 9g without any damage done to the airframe. The max G ever officially recorded on an F-14 was about 13g, and the pilot flew that bird back to base. It's also faster than the Su-57 at any altitude. An F-14 with 2 bombs and a targeting Pod can reach a ground speed of 1,000knots while flying at 50,000ft.
