  5.  @lemmingt6207  in the Fravor case it was seen on ship's radar, the 2 F/A-18's optical sensors, then when Fravor's flight landed the CO of another Hornet squadron went up and got the FLIR video that became known as the tic tak videos.

  6. The US Navy keeps a squadron of F/A-18F's Two seat versions of the F/A-18E aboard each carrier. Policy is that FAC-A missions are done by two seat aircraft. WSO is FAC certified and handles the Forward Air Control mission, receiving requests for fire support, coordinating air strikes, keeping track of all available assets. Pilot who is also FAC certified, flies the plane and other spill over tasks that the WSO does not have time to handle while he's doing the FAC mission.
