The old retread system used a layer of tread that comes as a strip of rubber and can come off. If you notice, this system it's a single unbroken ring of rubber. No joint for the tread to break. Now there is no guarantee the tread will stay intact if the road temperature is high enough to melt asphalt.

So he wants to use heavy cold air rocket (compressed air) to help it accelerate faster? Instead of doing that, just make the car lighter. Talk about Rube Goldberg solutions.

@vs1776ny without using a supercharger which actually shortens the life of your battery every time you use it.

@kspavankrishna and you should learn how to make an argument rather than hurl insults like a 5 year old. Hint, Who What and why.

I want to know if that battery case is a structural member.

@richardcatchlove9115 Asking because in the Model 3 the battery case does not add anything to the car's structural integrity.

@RJL612 And the Roadster 2.0 is supposed to have 2 Tesla battery packs merged into a single large one.

@kspavankrishna My apologies.

@Neojhun That would be news to the race teams who run those cars in the GT2 and GY3 division of the 6, 12 and 24 hour races. The rules dictate minimal engine or vehicle mods (brakes, tires, roll cage, fuel tank, fire suppression and removal of all non-essential equipment)

@vs1776ny The teams are allowed 5 engines which have to last the entire season (about 12 races). Each engine will run over 2,800 miles in each race before being taken apart and inspected for wear and tear then put back together in time for practice and the next race. So yeah they'll last longer than 600 miles

@Neojhun Ferrari, while famous for being unreliable (famously so that one frustrated owner started his own company) are not that much more unreliable most Italian cars.
