  16. In court, yes, but the whistleblower legislation and regs specifically shield their identity in order to protect them from retaliation.

  17.  @sarcasticcat4982  It's illegal to retaliate against a whistleblower, yes. What use to happen was that someone would file a complaint and the person who filed the complaint would find themselves getting multiple reprimands and unfavorable job performance reviews, getting re-assigned to dead end jobs if not out right fired. Now imagine you are going to file a complaint against the President of the USA and even with all the protections you have, you're boss is being told by the AG that he (your boss) does not have the standing to support you, can't pass that complaint to investigators or the Judiciary Committee (the law specifically says that they HAVE to give it to the House).
