@warlordofbritannia Donald Trump went on a tirade about judges loyal to Clinton presiding over his lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and filed his case in the one district with a single federal judge, that Judge was Aileen Cannon.
Unfortunately for him instead of his pet judge, it ended up with U.S. District Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks.
When Trump tried to get Middlebrooks to recluse himself from the case, Middlebrooks called him out in a snarky footnote.
In his response, Middlebrook writes “I note that Plaintiff filed this lawsuit in the Fort Pierce division of this District, where only one federal judge sits: Judge Aileen Cannon, who Plaintiff appointed in 2020. Despite the odds, this case landed with me instead. And when Plaintiff is a litigant before a judge that he himself appointed, he does not tend to advance these same sorts of bias concerns,”
This week Judge Middlebrooks dismissed the lawsuit in a 65 page ruling stating that Trump's lawsuit was a 200-page "political manifesto outlining his grievances against those that have opposed him." and that what the suit "lacks in substance and legal support it seeks to substitute with length, hyperbole, and the settling of scores and grievances,".
