As a Nigerian millennial, i have come to the conclusion that wokeness can only exist is a stable developed, first-world country mainly because the people, especially the young/well-off ones in urban areas have no real existential problems and have to fill that void with something and then it just makes their society worse. It's no wonder rural westerners hate wokeness. Thankfully, it seems to be dying down.

@babyamyxo-o6c I hear you. Every time I hear that dumb thing called cultural appropriation, I cringe. It makes no sense. By their logic, I shouldn't be speaking English, using a phone, the internet, wearing trousers or be a Catholic since none of those things were created by black people. Cultural appropriation is a dumb concept since every culture shares and borrows from each other.
