  1. Well said. As a black person myself, what made black Jimmy in that show work was that they kept him as his likable self and did no toxic identity politics with him but I, and most black people, prefer no race-swapping at all.

  2.  @Ability-King-KK  I agree. They really didn't need to race-swap him. Heck! They could have just had him be an original character, like maybe a childhood friend of Clark from Smallville who also moved to Metropolis with him. Now he will never be anything other than black Jimmy Olsen and quickly forgotten, despite actually been a decent character in that show compared to other diverse tokens

  3. This genuinely makes me happy. I am not white (I'm black) but I am so happy to not see another token race swap in media. Most of us black people hate that nonsense a lot. Black Jimmy in My Adventures with Superman was a good character with likability and no toxic identity politics but I prefer no race-swapping.
