He mentioned how as the culture went through periods of polarisation and hollywood began churning out mediocre ideological-plagued content during the 60s, 70s, and 80s, it was small-scale producers and creators who began to make more entertaining and good content. It was also a time when westerns, noir crime shows and police procedurals became more popular in response to the crime waves, the cultural polarization, the nihilistic tones in mainstream movies and tv shows and comics. Basically, as the establishment kept pushing heir ideological garbage, more people had a yearning for good entertainment with more uplifting small-scale stories and characters.
