  1. You are mistaking multiculturalism for multiethnicity. Rome had many ethnic groups but had one overlapping Roman culture. Achaemenid Persia had many ethnic groups but one overlapping Persian culture. America has many ethnic groups but one overlapping American culture. A unifying culture helps, even in multiethnic societies. Multiculturalism is divisive and leads to fracturing and balkanization, even in ethnically homogenous places like former Yugoslavia. Canada needs to rediscover its unifying culture and drop the stupid facade of multiculturalism the far-left keeps propping up as a "good thing."

  5.  @xviper2k  But you do have one overlapping American culture. English is your national language (that even immigrants have to at least be proficient in speaking). There is separation of religion from state at all levels of government (unlike other countries). There are no special enclaves where people live separate and independent from the Federal government (like say in France or Sweden with Molmo). The constitution, the federal laws and state laws apply to all citizens (home-born and naturalized) equally unlike in my country where in the north, Sharia law supersedes Nigerian law for muslims. The entire country adheres to liberalism as the ideology (some variants like far-leftism or hard-line conservatism do exist but he main ideology in the USA is Liberalism) So how exactly do you people not have an overlapping cultural identity?

Or does every Indigenous Canadian suffer the same as they did back then or have problems solely due to what happened in the past, beyond their own personal control today? Where does this whole oppressor/oppressed narrative end with you folks? Can't you just embrace civic nationalism and move on like most of humanity? You know another group of Indigenous people in the Americas who had it even worse and have had not one ounce of recompense or even attempts at reconciliation? The indigenous people in Mexico of those in South America. Maybe stop drumming division and try to promote more unity.

  17.  @avroarchitect1793  Thanks for explaining this to me. I genuinely didn't know the government was blocking further excavation. Plus, the points you elaborated on, I didn't even know myself. It's really sad how objective analysis, discourse and coverage have been so tainted by biased ideological interests and self-flagellation bandwagon (as you aptly put it) This will eventually lead to unfortunate fallout in the future.
