Simple: They were monarchs and in the upper echelons of society. There will always be some level of lee-way for them.

He is not lying. I am Nigerian and slavery existed in the region that became my country even before the British or Europeans came. We Africans enslaved each other and Arabs joined in. The Europeans took part in it but they were the ones who ended it. Also, the arab slave trade was longer and much worse. This is a historical fact.

@AndrewLaReal Actually, you are wrong. The church facilitated many science and academic institutions and pursuits. Many of Europe's first universities were created by the church and many ground breaking fields and their scholars were prominent Catholics. Copernicus, one of the main pillars of astronomy, was a Catholic canon and so many more examples. Compared to Islam were religious dogma supressed science, Christianity propelled it.

@abdelkarim8381 So basically having the "best" form of slavery makes it okay? Didn't the Arabs geld their male African slaves, rape the women, forcibly convert Balkans children and conscript them as soldiers, take European women as concubines by force, and so many other worse examples? You guys had no moral compass. At least the Europeans and Christians, though they partook in slavery, had the moral strength to abolish it and still apologize for it. You guys still practice till this day and you even tried to justify/excuse it.
