My guy, respect to you. You lucked out with being raised by your father and within a good cultural and family structure that is Hispanic. I am Nigerian and Catholic myself. So I agree with many of your points.

I legitimately get so confused whenever I hear westerners say that conservatives and the right -wing are "racists" and bigots yet both groups have increasingly become one of the most open spaces I have seen contrary to teh left. On the right, meritocracy and unifying tenets/ideals are what eventually come to dominate and unite its members far more than ethnicity or race. The best ideologies are basically the ones that encourage unity based on ethics and so far, the right has been doing this better than the left which encourages divisive identity politics.

26:18 Small correction: Black Americans are part of that left coalition but not African immigrants. Most of us actually want to assimilate into wider society and be successful in the western world rather than be victims on the sidelines. That's why you don't see a huge representation of us or Carribeans among the BLM radical left lot.

The British had a mandate and habit of preaching and inserting their socio-cultural and socio-economic values upon those whom they colonized. best example is Botswana (one of the most politically and economically stable African countries) This led to former British colonies, like mine, embracing stuff like democracy (flawed as it is), capitalism, liberalism (again, flawed but better than what existed before) and abolishing evils like slavery. Once we gained our independence, we continued upon the path teh British set and though we had (continue to have) many setbacks, we have not stopped trying to improve on what they left us.
