As a Nigerian, I have nothing but respect and admiration for the British. They are the whole reason my country exists in the first place and that is something I am grateful for. Happy Jubilee day and God bless the Queen and you all.

Wow, cool factoid. Also, I can totally see her living that long. Heck! A man in my country, Nigeria, who was a custodian to one of our famous landmarks, died at the age of 137 recently. The Queen can, indeed, live that long.

@iamwrong2239 Simple: We ignore them because lord knows we have reall problems to deal with instead of wasting time blaming the British and colonialism for all our problems. Also, anyone who reads up on Nigerian history (which many of those woke westerners don't) will understand it was not some black-and-white affair. For instance, one thing that gets ignored a lot is the fact that the British are the main reason why slavery was abolished in Nigeria and also why much of our economic, political and social system is as prosperous and liberal (relative to other African countries) because they didn't just colonize for the sake of extracting resources but actually transplanted their social culture and systems onto what became Nigeria. Though we in the south embraced thei r culture and systems much more readily than those in the north.
