  2. Ben, I love you but immigration isn't the sole reason to this. Japan an South Korea have low LOW immigration levels yet have severely low birth rates and are on-par with the UK in terns of socioeconomic development. This is being caused your culture more than anything else. Same with Japan and South Korea.
