I, as a Nigerian, cannot tell you how refreshing it is to see a westerner who is talking about the history of slavery with such objective lenses. The fact that Mister Starkey even mentioned the Arab slave trade and the practice of castrating African men and raping the women tells me that he one academic worth respecting because he is not simply spouting the "official" narrative for political correctness.

@kelaj4262 You are right that I am speaking from the perspective of a Nigeria and an Africa, and my own perspective. So what exactly makes you think I am speaking on the "experience of African De[s]cendants of Slaves"? Also, how exactly are Mr. Starkey or myself colonizers? Neither of us were alive during that period (I am 27 years old) or had anything to do with that. Exactly what point are you trying to make? I am confused here.
