As a Nigerian, thanks for making this video. You covered the points objectively. It is surprising to me how many westerners and even some Africans actually think most of us in west Africa support this coup. We are appalled by it and we know how it will lead to insecurity and increased social and economic problems for all of us. Already in Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso, their coups by the Wagner group and local military thugs, have ledto increased insurgency and poverty for local citizens.

@koikoi5520 yes, you initially support it now but that will change. Look at Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea. All had similar coups by Wagner and local military thugs and all said it was to "liberate their countries". Today, these countries have massive insecurity and worse economic standards and popular support for the coups are dropping. The same will happen in Niger. Also, my country is affected by your coup as we tend to be the next target for the islamic insurgents in your country and we don't want this and will do anything to prevent it.

@mortmortannon6640 It's not entirely wrong. In much if the Sahel, many citizens have complained about French overreach in the region and many initially welcomed these coups, even in my country and it was mainly, as you point out, about "sticking it to colonizers" as ridiculous as that is but as time went on and the coups in Mali and Burkina Faso showed, insecurity ahs gotten worse and people are feeling the negative effects of the coups. Even some people in my country actually support the coups initially without understanding how it will effect us via the refuges and islamic insurgents from these countries that inevitably pour through our northern borders.

@nettlecarrier8259 Believe whatever teh hell you want. If you think I am not Nigerian, i couldn't care less.
3
@watchesandgold believe whatever you want. If me being against military thugs overthrowing African democracy and harming Africans makes me a "boot polisher" what does your support of them make you?
3
@Halcon_Sierreno okay, nice one😂😂I'll give you a thumbs up for that humor.

@Jazzisa311 a lot of the support is just spontaneous and spurred on by mindless rhetoric. As for the Europe issue, France deserves criticism for failed policies in the Sahel but that is no excuse for a military coup and toppling African democracies. As time has gone on after the initial coups, many of the citizens have come to see how bad they are, especially in increasing islamic insurgency. The only ones benefitting from these coups usually end up being teh corrupt military thugs who seized power and the islamic terrorists in their countries.
2
@Halcon_Sierreno simple, i am a "Western" African. I get the pun. It's is technically correct but we just don't commit use that term to describe ourselves just cause. I mean sort of like how Elon Musk is technically and factually an "African-American" 🤣 but in their culture and colloquial tongue, being African-American just means being black skinned

@sc1338 yes, I would. This coup happened because of interventions from a Russian mercenary group and local military thugs. Unless you live in west Africa and actually have to deal with the reality and threat of islamic insurgency, you would understand. My country's government has closed the borders to Niger and sanctioned the coup plotters. We know the danger that political instability brings to the area and if the international community will try and stop it, we will gladly welcome them.
2
@sc1338 don't let that stuff get to you. Believe me when I say many of us actually understand how the current world order is stable because of the USA. Yeah, there are mistakes they have .ade but most of us prefer what they have established compared to anarchy and insecurity that tends to be the order of the day.

@MKRex Amen, friend.

@nwhite3080 Thanks and God bless.

@nonetheless-l8t Sorry, I meant the radical leftist types in the west, especially those who are using the excuse of "being against imperialism and colonization" while ignoring how this coup has led to trampled democracy and was instigated by a Russian mercenaries.
1
@kainosmuvingi2047 because those neighbors are one of the mains sources for islamic insurgency here.
1
@wrongthinker843 guy, I'm not an American. I don't get whatever the heck you are referring to.
1
@taq1238 and how exactly is overthrowing a democratically elected government for a dictatorship with your military thugs and Russian mercenaries supposed to equal freedom for you?
