Welcome to human nature and mammal biology. What exactly shocks you about this? Pretty sure we, as a species, have made great progress by moving away from this style of thinking compared to our past. Maybe appreciate that fact?

@evilmurlock But you just admitted that the "tribes are less violent" Isn't that a good change? Compared to the long past that was worse, the recent present is infinitely better. Tribalism and group conflicts are, sadly, an intrinsic part of humanity due to a combination of evolutionary factors, cultural factors and geography. We cannot escape it. Even ethnically homogenous countries like Japan still find ways to heighten various differences within themselves and cause friction but rather than just condemn human nature outright, why not be thankful that we have found ways to mitigate the harm from such nature? We can never get rid of it so thank goodness we are adapting and controlling it.

@evilmurlock okay, sorry for being a bit too antagonistic but this is the general point I was trying to get across.
