Afghanistan is the graveyard of empires and also the graveyard of Afghanistan (it's people, it hopes and dreams and any potential it could ever have) Even without foreign intervention, Afghanistan would still be a messed up place. Geography, climate, and demographics have doomed it from the beginning.

I agree. Haiti is a serious special case. They have good land, good geographic location and potential as a tourist hub and shipping ports, proximity to the USA. the only serious issue is their tendency for earthquakes but honestly the really should be doing better as a country. And I refuse to believe the lazy excuse of "slavery, exploitation, racism" etc. They have also received more financial aid than most countries in that region. Something else is clearly wrong that country.

@512TheWolf512 honestly, that is likely what will happen in the future, unfortunately. They may not have oil, fertile soil or much water but they have rare earth minerals among other resources and given the decades of instability, it's a given some other power or powers will do this to them.

@jarmcar6144 Simple: because religions tend to outlast socio-political structures due to their ability to transcend into cultures that already existed prior. Rome was the entity that got Christianity wide-spread in Europe initially and when it fell, Christianity continued to grow because it was already ingrained among the populous and their cultures.

@thedictationofallah yeah, sorry but that is not enough to convince me. I have seen vlogs of North Korean biking tourism and I have no desire to visit that country.
