3:59 This really REALLY makes me glad that it was the British who decided to colonize and effectively create my country of Nigeria. The British tended to not just focus on resource exploitation in their colonies but they actually tried to develop them for their own benefit and indirectly, the benefit of the people they controlled. Thus, they also brought their social systems and economic systems to their territories and this usually led to better socioeconomic and political stability afterwards, compared to most of Africa that was colonized by non-British. Oh, and let us not forget that the British were one of the few colonial powers to outlaw and forcibly stop slavery in Africa.

@g_g1241 Yeah, I have to agree with you there. We might have ended up like Liberia or South Africa or Zanzibar with the Arabs. We got the sweet spot in terms of the whole colonialism thing
