Thank you so much for making this. As a non-westerner(Nigerian) it always baffles me whenever I see western "environmentalists" decrying nuclear energy as dangerous and destructive yet it is one of the most green, efficient, and safest forms of energy generation ever. The only major nuclear reactor disasters the world has had can be counted on one hand and two of those (Chernobyl and Fukushima) were due to government incompetence and an act of nature.

Well, to be fair, given the....current government in your country, would you really be willing to trust them to run a nuclear plant? Government incompetence was what caused Chernobyl. Imagine something like that in Africa. The only African countries I can see having and managing nuclear energy properly are Botswana, Ethiopia, Egypt, and Morocco. They are all stable and have the economic strength to afford it and to get experts.

I am surprised a westerner is even aware that China has most of the world's coal power plants. Usually, many of you in the west are ignorant of China's role as a polluter and you always assume only the west contributes to CO2 emissions.

@loran6692 Very well put but it still baffles me how so many of so called "environmentalists" purposefully or ignorantly ignore that reality and just claim that only the west is the world's polluter. It's nice to know that actual experts in the energy sector are still objective about these matters.

@DeadKraken Hmm, i have no doubt there are Americans who do ignore the CO2 emissions their country produces but I doubt they are as many as you imagine. Most i see do acknowledge the USA produces a lot, compared to Europe but they also don't over-exagerrate their output as "environmentalists" do. Even as metrics show, it is on a less toxic scale and with less negative environmental impact when compared to China (with smoggy city lines and polutted ground water) and India and even parts of Africa. The fact is that America uses less coal and more clean natural gas from fracking, coupled with more nuclear reactors (unlike Germany who decided to shut down most of their reactors in favor of crude oil and gas from Russia)
