RIP Anwar Sadat. It is a tragedy that peace makers are often killed by their own people. Anwar Sadat was a great middle-east leader and peace maker who was viciously killed by Egyptian muslim extremists despite how his peace deal helped Egypt. It is truly a tragedy but we thank God for great leaders like Sadat who are willing and daring to make hard but necessary choices.

Thanks for this video. As a Nigerian, it is so refreshing to see objective and factual discourse of African history and geopolitics. I appreciate how you correctly point out that colonialism was not what created the Tutsi-Hutu divide. It already existed. Colonialism just accentuated it😢 Your videos are not plagues by identity politics or fallacies, just history. Respect to you, sir. You gained a sub

A very sad moment in my country's history. Political instability and border crisis led to our government expelling desperate Ghanians and that horrible term for a plastic bag becoming a norm. I was not born then but it is still sad. Glad that Ghana managed to pull through and improve. Congrats to them. I hope we learn from them in Nigeria.

Um, what does this story have to do with the current Israeli government or Netanyahu? Also, are you seriously saying we should not praise Israel for saving theor people from the butcher of Uganda? You see how crazy that looks?

Thanks for this objective and well researched documentary video. As an African, this is why I ONLY celebrate great leaders like Seretse Khama and not monsters like Mugabe. Sadly, we know that more Africans here will still defend and praise Mugabe despite the litany of evil that he did to his own people😢

And yet after his death, Zimbabwe has been working to undo all the terrible policies he created😢 guess he was no hero

Exactly

@profpuffofficial2 Leopold was a monster a d even Belgium and much of Europe was revolted by what he did to Congo. Belgium has been paying annual reparations for this. How many of Amin's accomplices paid for their crimes in Uganda? Also, considering Amin was an African who did worse to his own people, that makes him as bad as Leopold.

Mister Paul Kagame is a great (and complex) African leaders. I usually despise the military strongmen dictators in Africa since they mostly do more harm to us but he is an exception. He is the Lee Kuan Yew (founder of Singapore) of Africa. He took a fallen nation, healed it and turned it around.

God bless you for making this video. As an African (Nigerian, specifically) it saddens me how little known Seretse Khama is in much of present Africa. Many of us here are so quick to hail Gaddafi or Idi Amin or Abacha or Sankara or some other military thug as a "good leader" 😢. He was the greatest leader in Africa. He and Botswana's tribal leaders worked to improve their country by good socioeconomic systems and political systems. They enbraced and modified what the British left them and today, Botswana is among the most politically stable a d economically strong African countries despite having less land and resources than Zimbabwe and South Africa which are both facing crises.

Great video. Very well researched and objective video. Honestly, considering how Ethiopia still has the problems that even colonized countries here still have, despite not being colonized themselves, i think it's clear not being colonized didn't change much for them. They still have insecurity, corruption, poverty, tribalism, civil wars, and much more, sometimes worse than colonized countries like Botswana and Namibia who do better😢

@reddot_22 I am from Africa and while you are correct, this really has nothing to do with this video on Charles Taylor.
4
@McVet3 yeah, many of them actually does line up with the clan system in parts of Europe, friend. Good observation. While others are just locally named or use the names they were ascribed during colonialism, a good chunk are based on the ethnicities a d tribes there

Sankara was a good intentioned man who wanted the best for his country but he used the wrong methods. He should have embraced democracy, like Seretse Khama, and this would have helped him ensure long-lasting change and improvements for his country. Him using military dictatorship meant that his changes were not destined to last long and that democracy would not take root and that others would simply use his same method of seizing power against him.
3
God bless you for this comment, friend. More of us in Africa need to understand this.
3
Oh Lord......Here in Africa, we always tend to produce some of the worst political figures in human history mainly because of how incompetent, evil, corrupt, or just dumb they are. They never develop their countries or manag thibgs well and only rare exceptions like Seretse Khama actually do good.
3
No nonsense? 🤣 he was a Society puppet who butchered his own people and nearly destroyed Uganda. If you think he was such a great person, why not move to Eritrea where another ruler like him is in charge?
2
Congratulations to Senegal and her people! They defended and upheld their democracy👏 They refused to embrace dictatorship like Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso. Respect to them
2
@Lando-kx6so sad but true😔 Our history is full of evil tyrants who did more harm to our African people than anyone else.
2
Arabs ruining Africa since forever😢 No wonder the black Christian population of South-Sudan fought for years to be free of them.
2
At least this monster didn't get away with his crimes, like so many African warlords😢
2
@namagembe67 yeah, I agree. It all started when we foolishly elected our current ruling party in 2015 and their disastrous economic and security policies undermined our country since then.
2
As a Nigerian, i say good for Israel for humiliating this monster and saving (most of) their citizens. Amin was an evil human being who, sadly, got away with most of his crimes against the people of Uganda but at least in this situation, his evil was thwarted.

@videoepic-d3h The Tutsi were the ruling cast of the region and were nomadic cattle herders while the Hutus were settled farmers. In that culture, prior to colonialism, wealth and status were measured in ownership of cattle. That's how/why the Tutsi became the ruling class and established that caste system. Please check if I am wrong😕

@kareldekale4987 oh, that was also tragic and horrible too. Glad the POS who did that is rotting in jail
1
@asharahmad1068 sure, sure. Keep telling yourself that. Jordan once stood with Palestine and they almost lost their country to civil war. Lebanon stood with Palestine and their country was ruined forever. Egypt blockades Gaza and Palestinians because they don't want terrorists in their borders. Most Muslims are no as deluded as you. They don't want instability and they will protect their own interests.
1
Um, he was killed by one of his military friends. How exactly can you blame the west for this?
1
She was a great woman and earned her place in history. Idi Anin was just another African "strongman" thug who nearly destroyed his country and is derided in history.

@JustinOlpompa well said

Thomas Sankara was a good intentioned man who definitely wanted the best for his country but he went about it the wrong way. By using military force and dictatorship, he undermine the chance for democracy and long-term change. Plus, it cost him his own life by encouraging others to simply use his methods against him and the good changes he implemented were undone.
1
Yeah, i really am not going to blame America for what that aninal, Taylor, did. Also, are you really surprised that black people enslave and teeat other black people poorly? It's sad but reality. Thankfully, better culture and morals are changing this.
1
Sad but true. It's human nature. Even after colonialism, wlqvery still exists in Africa and it's africans doing it to other Africans😢
1
@tonnyanguzu Not surprised. Saddam is a hero in Iraq despite what he and his family did to the people. Stalin is seen as a hero in Russia despite causing famines and the killings and gulags. Pol Pot is seen as heroic in parts of Cambodia despite his genocide. I am not surprised a man who oppressed his own people, ate his enemies and (g)raped is seen as heroic to Ugandans now. Welcome to humanity.
