I was genuinely surprised that woke hollywood made this movie🤔🤔 Many of us in Africa, especially us Nigerians, know of how Dahomey was a slaver kingdom that only stopped slavery because, ironically, the Europeans conquered them and forced them to stop slavery. Who thought this movie was a good idea?!

As a 27 year old black man I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am that my father was heavily involved in my life growing up in Nigeria. He is still involved in my life and I am grateful for that because it prevented me from ending up like this kid. I may be in college, living alone and working part-time but he never fails to keep me in check to make sure I never screw up.

As a Nigerian-immigrant currently working and schooling in North America, I have come to one conclusion: Social Justice, wokeness and progressivism can ONLY exist in a developed, liberal and first-world nation/region where there are very few existential threats and where the purposeless masses in urban areas have to create some form of ideology to fill the void in their lives. Imagine being offended by a field of cotton! A cash crop grown on almost every country on earth! That is why it makes no sense and destroys that society. That is also why rural westerners, non-western countries and immigrants mostly tend to hate social justice and wokeness more than the native citizens.

Slavery is evil but slaves didn't build America. I say this as a black guy with knowledge of history. They were mainly in agrarian economy of the south and much of the industry, factories & infrastructure was built by actual paid workers in the north and middle. America's capitalism, immigrants, locals and innovation built America

As a black guy, I have to ask why didn't they just hire an attractive black actress? Maybe it's because I am Nigerian but I assume westerners prefer attractive actors and actresses, right? There was a Disney version of Cinderella with Brandy playing her and it was great and she was hot. I hate that they raceswapped Juliet but they could have at least found a more attractive black actress for this role. That's the issue most people have but most of us honestly won't even bother with this version once it's out.

This movie is going to underperform due to several reasons: lack of interest, full-on wokeness, declining MCU box office, more box office competition (especially from Black Adam) and also no male lead (the majority of people who saw the first black panther were black males and they helped market it via word-of-mouth. Given how Woman King performed, most of us black guys don't care for any of that "feminism" b.s in our media)

As a Nigerian immigrant in North America, it just baffles me how these progressive black Americans can be so deluded. They voted for these policies and the party that caused this but now they are shocked by the results?! Tbeir culture needs to change!

A man actually won a woman's beauty contest? Okay, western society. You do you. And you call the rest of us "uncivilized"🤣🤣

As a Nigerian-immigrant in North America, I really don't blame you, friend. Many of us Africans are sickened by their community (black progressives) as well. Black American conservatives tend to speak out against this stuff but sadly the radical progressive ones tend to hold political and institutional power.
155
Technically it's "Why the f*** are you?" 😂 Seriously, wherefore is old English for "why"

@MeanBeanComedy Oh, thank you! I am actually Edo. But yeah, I definitely hope I live up to his expectations and become a good father, myself one day.
85
Thank God I was born and raised with discipline in Nigeria before I emigrated to North America for work and college. None of this woke madness has tainted me😌🙏
85
God bless this man and i thank him for his service! He stood up for himself! I am not white (i'm a black conservative) and it is so refreshing to see more white people standing up to these woke thugs. Lord knows no matter how much we sane black people speak out against them, we get ignored so it is great to see people of other races standing up to them.
79
Thank you and God bless, friend. We Nigerians, and other Africans, absolutely love it when others try our culture. The whole "cultural appropriation" nonsense the woke westerners complain about is just baffling to us.
65
And people say smoking weed makes you more humanistic, mellow and creative. Clearly not in this guy's case.
63
@bobbyschannel349 What exactly do you mean "conservatives didn't grant me access in America"? I got into this country as an international student (a legal immigrant) by demonstrating (and continuing to demonstrate) my academic merit, good legal standing and financial capability of supporting myself here. Pretty sure that has nothing to either conservative or liberal political ideology🤔 Or are you implying that conservatives hate legal immigrants?
41
Only in America can a judge be in trouble for insulting a criminal who was actively trying to rob her while breaking into her home! The is peak first-world syndrome right here😂😂😂
36
I hear you, friend. But i am a Nigerian immigrant in north America. This lady is not part of my community.
31
True but I doubt they will at this point. the amount of generational psyoping the left has done to the black community is virtually irreversible. I mean it has been more than half a century and they still keep voting in a party that implements policies that negatively effects them but they keep doing so because the media tells them repeatedly the other party is racist with little to no proof. They are lost. Oh well. At least african immigrants, hispanics and asians have not been fooled yet.
31
@PeacepiperF200 Who the fuck cares? he did his job as president and his record shows how his policies benefitted Americans. What else should a president do? I can understand why stupid westerners, like you, actually believe that a politician should only be judged on their outward personality and not on their actual merit and policies. You all live in such privilege and comfort that you can afford to not care whether your leaders actually give a damn about your country and it's welfare. You just care that they act polished and picturesque.
27
@therealdarrell282 no. Culturally wise, mostbof us Nigerians are more close to Black American conservatives like Thomas Sowell.
24
Why do some black Americans have a "holiday" called kwanza that has nothing to do with Africa and was created by a black supremacist and marxist? In much of Africa, we still celebrate Christmas; even muslims and traditionalists celebrate it with us Christians. We don't just do it because colonialism but because we genuinely love the holiday and the spirit of joy and togetherness it inspires. We have a various regional holidays and national days but we NEVER try to use them to replace Christmas because that is just plain stupid.
23
@truthwarrior1489 Weird Antichrist who kept fighting for the rights of the unborn and got Israel so many peace deals with hostile islam countries🤔 Oh, you mean "Antichrist" as per liberal definition😂
21
Congrats to you, brother. You have earned your success and God bless you for resisting the victimhood mindset. Respect from another Nigerian.
17
@MeanBeanComedy Yeah, we are. A sizable portion of us are Catholic due to the strong presence of Catholic missionaries and schools in the state pre and post-independence. My dad and his dad both went to such a school and I was raised Catholic.
15
As a Nigerian, I feel proud. Despite the issues we have here, our malls are not looking their stuff behind gates or cages because trust I actually better here than in black American neighborhoods.
15
@Wrangzilla it is sad. I know many black Americans are more culturally conservative but it is sadly the radical progressive ones who hold political and institutional power. This then leads to the problems in culture and so on.
14
The reason she did this, and the reason many actors, musicians and artist-types have to be woke is because this is the culture and religion of the current elites and by embracing the ideology of wokeness, they hope to become part of said elite.
13
@penguinjay yeah, that is one major fear. My dad always praises me for how I didn't lose myself after he sent me here, despite the hardships I faced. That being said, one thing that helps is that a sizeable portion of black Americans are culturally conservative and this gels well with us Africans when we find such people.
12
@jordancourse5102 Amen, friend. God bless wonderful parents who do right for their kids everywhere.
10
@AlleyCatG3K that is kinda sad. I hoped this trend was just a minority of people pushing it.
10
@amrita3000 Respect to you, friend. I am happy that my words have resonated with you. Never let anyone try to undermine your success as the left keeps trying to do to us.
9
@jessicaselles9389 Did you personally go through any of this? Also, is your race/group the only ones to experience any form of hardship like this? In Nigeria, my country, we are literally dealing with islamic terrorism, secessionism, and banditry. I have family members who have been kidnapped. My own family was robbed several times at knife point but we will be damned before we claim victimhood. What gives you cause to claim victimhood exactly? Is your life worse than that of other humans or Africans on earth?
9
5:31 I think there is a reason why the Hispanic and Asian American communities have been surpassing Black America for years now. Both of the former refused to sell their souls to the democrats and because of this, their communities are thriving socially , economically and culturally.
9
We men and conservatives warned the feminists and women that this would happen and they called us bigots and crazy.
9
@Yehan-s3c Yes, we have that in our history and we have never denied it but most of us are also glad teh British ended their slavery.
8
@richardokorafor7472 Yeah, I know what you mean, friend. My own ancestors in the Benin kingdom were also slavers who were conquered by the British and thus their slavery system was abolished. It is sad to know one's ancestors were conquered but also it makes me happy that the evil of slavery was stamped out and the fact that I and my people are still alive and our culture still persists clearly shows that we didn't lose much in the end.
8
@Nigerian-born_American oh, I'm actually Edo 🤣 Well, I was raised part in Lagos and spent some time in Abuja. So maybe that explains my attitude.
8
I am black and this is why I remain a Catholic. Despite the many MANY issues and flaws we have, we have also managed to keep out the leftists and cultural marxists from our faith unlike the Pentecostals.
8
Never thought I would ever see an Asian affirmative action hire but she proves that such people do exist.
7
@AlleyCatG3K oh,know about Stellar Blade and just confuses me. The character is literally based on a real Korean model. Why the attacks?
7
Well said. I am a Nigerian and we liked Trump because he was the only USA president to not try and mess up our countries here. obama caused so many problems for us here. he destabilized Libya and caused a resurgence of islamic terrorism in North Africa that spilled into sub-Sharan Africa and it even caused the slave trade to re-emerge there. Also, he played a hand in getting our current tribalist/islamist "president, buhari, elected. Trump was really supported in much of Africa because we knew he didn't want to cause destabilization.
7
@Flex_Mayo thanks and God bless.
7
@ChrisB-zz8dh I agree with you. the first one was decent-to-mediocre but honestly the sequel just sounds and looks worse.
6
@therealdarrell282 believe me, I know and agree fully with you. That's why I said black progressives in my original reply comment. I also mentioned how most of us Nigerians are more like Black conservatives. I know most black people in the USA are not unhinged progressives and that they don't support the crazy ones, but sadly the crazy progressive ones tend to hold political and institutional power and create the negative perception.
6
Thank God America's justice system worked this time! God bless Kyle, his family, the judge and the brave jurors who stood up to the mob! Respect from a Nigerian!
6
@LadieKadie yeah, I mean Brandy played a version of Cinderella and she was hot.
6
@RichieRich7339 Thanks, friend. I am currently taking Accounting.
5
@RichieRich7339 God bless and I wish the all the success too, my friend. Your mom sounds awesome and you are awesome for acknowledging her. Merry Christmas.
