  1. As a 27 year old black man I am constantly reminded of how lucky I am that my father was heavily involved in my life growing up in Nigeria. He is still involved in my life and I am grateful for that because it prevented me from ending up like this kid. I may be in college, living alone and working part-time but he never fails to keep me in check to make sure I never screw up.

  3.  @MeanBeanComedy  Yeah, we are. A sizable portion of us are Catholic due to the strong presence of Catholic missionaries and schools in the state pre and post-independence. My dad and his dad both went to such a school and I was raised Catholic.

  11.  @yearight5303  Nope. I'd rather have an overbearing father than a distant or uncaring one. His own mom, my grandma, still calls and checks in on him and she is well into her 80s. That's just how family is in much of Africa☺😋
