Now this is a topic i have always been fascinated by😲😢 As a Nigerian, the issues with black Americans does intrigue me, especially considering how much better and stable and developed the US is compared to Africa. Even more strange is the fact that many African immigrants (mainly legal) in the USA tend to do better socioeconomically. Makes me think the issue is not racial but cultural🤔 I have been reading Thomas Sowell's writings on the issue but still need to understand more.

  9. 21:40 Fully agree with this sentiment. Even here in Nigeria, there is a constant tension between us in the South and those in the North. Due to our cultural differences, the South tends to value education, industry, capitalism and economic reforms while the more "traditional" Muslim North still tries to maintain their backwards ways. For example, there is this practice called Almajiri where poor Muslim families have as many children and wives as possible even when they can't provide for all. They then hand off the excess kids to some random Muslim man who is a "scholar" and he has them beg for alms and these kids tend to grow up maladjusted and either become bandits or worse😢 This is largely reinforced by their elites who want to keep their privilege and ensure no modernity improves their society a d they use Islam as a cudgel. Ironically enough, here in the South, we have many Muslims but due to our culture, they value education industry capitalism and modernity more. This dichotomy definitely plays a huge role in the tensions between our two regions.

I may not live in America but even I know how the richest racial demographics are Asian-Americans. I also know that legal African immigrants do better socioeconomically there. It can even be seen here in Nigeria. The tribes and regions tgat do well socioeconomically are mainly the ones here in the south because our cultures embrace more modernity, capitalism, education and civic nationalism while northern states tend to be poorer for the exact opposite.

This had the effect of necessitating more trust-based social systems while the Arab world continues the opposite. And it has led to cratering genetic issues as you point out.

Here in Nigeria, our country's navy frequently holds joint training sessions and operations with the US, French and British navies specifically to counter piracy, oil theft and trafficking. The best way to describe it is winning through compassion. Even my grandfather who was raised a pagan converted to Christianity because his mother's family, who were Christian, treated him with so much kindness and he was inspired by their faith. They themselves were treated so kind by the British evangelicals of the time and that made them convert earlier.

I like Dev of Shortfatotaku and while I disagree with some of his takes, I don't think he has become too extreme of a centrist yet since he still criticizes both the radical left and radical right and still supports good things from us on the right 👍 Plus, he is more honest about his biases.   29. 10:29 Funny personal story. My late grandfather in Nigeria, on my dad's side, was a polygamist before he converted to Christianity. He actually cautioned all of his kids against polygamy. He still stayed married to both wives for honor sake and raised all his kids. But he also had a not so good married life, mainly due to the first wife who was an awful woman (she remained pagan and not to fond of Christianity and trief to turn their kids against him). No surprise that my grandma was his favorite and gave him many kids but the stress of the union and other things contributed to his blood pressure issues and his unfortunate passing away at 53😢

Our federal government has ended the fuel subsidies, is reducing most other subsidies, and is now encouraging the development of more robust economic financing for citizens via credit, gradually clamping down on overspending, built domestic refineries to reduce oil imports, and encouraging greater federalism for states to finance their own projects. As expected, the reforms have caise systemic upheavals and hardships but they are necessary.

  52. When i first immigrated to Canada from Nigeria for education and work in 2012, i found myself becoming an atheist. I was 15 and wanted to fit in and i found the initial new-atheist wave to be rational. Then,with time, i saw what they really were. They became more toxic and unhinged. They deny any positive aspects of Christianity/religion and would attack and even lie about historical facts like how Christianity led to the development of modern science and liberalism. Or how Christianity led to abolishing slavery in Africa and they would play identity politics and that made me realize i was wrong about them. I am still a practicing Catholic today and I am glad i abandoned atheism.

  53. Regarding Trump's executive order on ending foreign aid, my country, Nigeria, was one of the recipients of this aid. It was for medical use but I am glad it has halted since much of it was being embezzled. We need to be be sufficient here in Africa and have less corrupt politicians who misuse foreign aid. It will likely resume only after serious re-negotiations and that's good. Plus, i support the idea of shifting to investments and trade with the USA. Ironically, for South Africa, their president told the USA to leave his country alone and now they are complaining about the aid stopping😂

I mean, the Greeks were more intelligent and scholarly that the Roman yet the Romans built an empire and foundations for western civilization. Nigerian immigrants in the west end up in high professional institutions and with jobs like doctors despite not being western by genetics. Hard work and culture and systems are what matters more.

The Middle East Is largely desert with terrible soil, few navigable water ways (most controlled by aggressive entities), countries that can't support high population densities and need to import grain, poor agriculture and other issues. Having oil has not alleviated any of these serious problems
