That point you made about pro-natalists being more happy, even despite hard living circumstances, is so true. Reminds me of grandmother in Nigeria. She, her husband, and kids were all poor but very happy and determined to succeed in life. Doubly more so after she and my late grandfather converted to Christianity. They had many kids and worked to put them all through school and today, the family does better and now she is encouraging me to get married and have kids of my own and I fully agree with her. Similar stuff can be seen in Isreal where previously it was Paelstinians who were having more kids but that trend switched a while back. When your culture and society is not consumed by toxic identity politics or lacking in drive, demographics will improve.

@tishie42 so how do you explain the population of Jordan, West Bank, Tunisia, Oman etc also having low birth rates despite not being in "captivity" as you call it?
