Speaking from my perspective as a Nigerian (Christian) this practice and reaction is mainly from MusI!ms in the Arrab world and South Asia😕 In places where MusI!m faith has very little Arrab influence, the practice of ch!ld/cousin marriage is taboo. For example, Southern MusI!ms (Yoruba, Igbo, etc) absolutely forbid it in their culture. Same thing in countries like Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Balkan Countries. It's mainly the Arrabs and South Asian MusI!ms who continue the sick practice of cousin and ch!ld marriage due to their clan-based cultures, views of women as lroperty, and reticence to modernize their culture and societies.
