As a Nigerian-immigrant in North America, I have come to one conclusion: Social Justice, wokeness and progressivism can ONLY exist in a developed, liberal and first-world nation/region where there are very few existential threats and where the purposeless masses in urban areas have to create some form of ideology to fill the void in their lives. That is why it makes no sense and destroys that society. That is also why non-western countries and immigrants mostly tend to hate social justice and wokeness more than the native citizens.

Doctor Peterson, as a Nigerian I want to thank you for this video and I also want to express my condolences to the Queen's family and the people of the UK. One thing that many of us in Africa cannot deny is that slavery was ended by the British during the era of colonialism they were involved with. Heck! My own ancestors were slavers and also enslaved by other Africans and this stopped thanks to the British. Plus, despite what most assume, we Africans absolutely value the positives brought here because of colonialism like modern medicine, technology, western education systems, nation building (as imperfect as it is, it's better than what was there before), better economic and social systems (capitalism and liberalism) As a Nigerian, one thing that makes me happy is how most of the people in my country did not use the death of Queen Elizabeth as some excuse to insult or whine about grievances. Most of us just expressed our condolences. The fact is that many of us bear no ill will to her or the British monarchy. Conversely, there were many statements and hot-takes from the usual suspects who just wanted to push their stupid victimhood ideology at the expense of the Queen's passing.

As an African (Nigerian) I couldn't agree with Mr. Peterson more! Our continent may not be developed yet but so many improvements have occurred even before I was born in the late 90s thanks to capitalism. My own country is an example of a benefactor of capitalism. Another great example is Botswana; a country smaller than Zimbabwe and South Africa but that is socially, economically and politically stable thanks to good leadership and capitalism compared to the other two that have become effectively failed states despite having more land and resources. To all the westerners who keep saying socialism and communism is better for the world, I dare you to actually live in a socialist and communist country.

Thank you so much for making this video. As an African myself (Nigerian, specifically) it always annoys me when most people only attribute Africa's current problems to "colonialism or racism", effectively removing personal responsibility of us Africans, and ignore more important factors like geography, climate, socioeconomic systems, political unity and leadership. Thanks for focusing on those areas.

@DeathGrip0nYesterday Zimbabwe embraced central planning, socialism and authoritarian government and look what happened to their country. Converesly, Botswana embraced democracy, capitalism and look at how they have become one of the most developed and politically stable and free countries in Africa. Please explain to me how American capitalism is bad for Africa again.........

@JohnSmith-hs1hn You are right to a degree that I wouldn't be here without past social justice actions like the Hart-Celler immigration act of 1965 (A bill-turned-law proposed by two white democrat politicians in 1965 to change the USA immigration laws that only favored immigrants from Northern Europe) and the great work of people like Martin Luther King Jr. But I am not here by virtue of any current social justice movement. I got to this country by my own merit (academic, legal and financial) and hard work. I am still here because I am working my ass off to pay my tuition and maintain good immigrant status. Social justice, as it is today, had absolutely nothing to do with it. Given how current social justice proponents tend to favor illegal immigrants over legal hard working immigrants, like me, who actually love America, I doubt what you are saying is true. The Civil rights movement back then never promoted racial identitarianism or separatism as they do now. They never promoted anti-American values as they do now. They NEVER promoted illegal immigration as they do now. So this current social justice movement is not responsible for me being here. They would likely prefer I were never here since I do not embrace their ideology.

I hear you, friend. This is also a huge fear of mine. If and when I decide to, I will not court any western(ized) women. I will literally go back to Nigeria or even middle east to find a traditional woman because I want children. I want to have a family but I do not want to be destroyed by evil women or divorce.

God bless Jordan and Greg. Thank you for talking about this serious issue. Men and children get ruined by the capricious family courts, feminism and exploitative "mothers". This is why I am not surprised, and also am glad, that South Korea has began to turn on 4th wave feminism in their country. Actual politicians have now began to criticize the misandry of these movements and many South Korean men have been using their votes to implement laws that protect them from said misandry.

@Seth Tegler Trust me friend, most immigrants are culturally and economically conservative but we are not a majority of the voting block no matter how you slice it. It's the native born citizens in the urban areas who continue to vote left and for the destructive woke policies we all see. How many immigrants do you see advocating for reduced police funding, teaching gender identity studies to kids, more welfare spending, etc?

I will ALWAYS be grateful to God and my parents, especially my father and the uncles I had in my life growing as a kid in Nigeria. The discipline and structure they drilled into me helped ensure I grew up into a well adjusted adult man.

Since this whole conflict started, I am proud to say that I have avoided any and all mainstream media coverage surrounding because I don't trust anything they say and they have every reason to twist the facts. For example, the "Ghost of Ukraine" being really just an image from a video game. The "dead Ukraine soldiers" from Snake Island have all being confirmed to be alive by the Ukrainian government. They literally surrendered to Russia. Mainstream media is all lies!

@JohnSmith-hs1hn Um, I dunno. Considering that they were the only African country to have nuclear reactors and nukes, I would say that made them developed. It all went to hell and then some after Mandela and his cronies came to power. Many of them were avid marxists and that was how social justice and all its ills came to South Africa aka Zimbabwe 2.0. As a Nigerian, I have no love or sympathy for South Africa given how the populous there treat Nigerians like me. So far, the only good leader in that country is Desmond Tutu.

@idaeom Well said, sir. And you are right. While it is important to discuss the negative effects of colonialism it is foolish to only attribute all of Africa's issues to colonialism as the narrow-minded pan-Africanists do (as you correctly observe).

Love Israel. I never knew about the fact that the Arab conquerors were the ones who expelled them en-masse and later lost the land while Jews came back and rebuilt it during the Ottoman days. Respect from Nigeria and props to their strong culture, people and visionary leadership. No matter how much they are stamped down, they always get back up.

@GuidetteExpert Oh I wish😂 Sadly, many third world regions are not rich/wealthy enough like the west to start promoting useless and destructive academic programs like Critical Theory, Gender Studies, or basically what the Liberal Arts have now become here. Besides, our cultures just don't work along those lines.

@logical_lb3059 Yes, our government and inept Central Bank head did impose those stupid limits.....and recently began rolling them back after a while and serious blowback and complaints from citizens and financial institutions. It was done to address financial shortfalls largely due to faulty monetary policies of our federal government. That's part of the corruption and ineptitude I already highlighted. Didn't America also recently impose some new tax on $600 and above for online income increases? Heck! Didn't the Canadian government strongarm an online donation website into withholding donations to those truck drivers who were protesting in Ottawa? Is Canada also not capitalist now? or are these outliers to you? Governments are inept and use stupid monetary policies that screw average citizens over in attempts to fix their own mistakes. What else is new? How does any of this prove my country is not capitalist? Just say Nigeria has a corruption and government ineptitude problem and stop reaching to try and prove fallacies.

@kowishto Well, yeah, some imperialism is. The nature of history is like that; grey. Also, it largely depends on who is doing the "imperialism". I mean, can you honestly tell me that places like Hong Kong, Nigeria, Kenya, America, Botswana etc who were colonized by the British didn't get infrastructure and inherit their socioeconomic values like democracy, capitalism, liberalism and common law and this has helped all those countries be more developed compared to many others? Compare that to countries that were colonized by say the Arabs, Dutch, French, Spanish or others.

@keliamadiba7016 With no mind to disrespect anyone's ancestors, I got into North America via my own merit and hard work and I earned the privilege of being allowed to study here and I am the own paying my own tuition. I owe this to no one, except God, myself and the family who raised me back home.

@cor3944 What "open borders"? Do you assume I just walked into Canada and got a cheque and a place to live? I had to prove by my own academic and financial merit in order to get accepted into a highschool (and currently, in a college) here and I am still having to prove that by meeting my tuition payments and being enrolled full-time and not breaking any laws. Also, I didn't come here for "social justice." I came here to get a good education, better economic opportunities, and a chance to become a legal resident and also to improve my own country later on. It's called being a legal immigrant and I have yet to see any of the "social justice activists" advocating for that. They don't want hard working good people who value and want to assimilate into western society to come here.

@logical_lb3059 oh, in that case, I know about the rankings. Yes, my country has a serious corruption problem and bribery problem. We also scale lower than Botswana in terms of social liberalism but how exactly does this mean we are not capitalist? Pretty sure meeting certain tenets like property rights and economic liberalism is what matters more in order to be considered capitalist economy. By your logic, Ethiopia and Rwanda would also not qualify as capitalist since they ranked lower than Botswana as well.

I believe they have this thing called Civil forfeiture where the police (an arm of the state) can cease personal funds without redress for the owner even if they are innocent. And that's just one example. I remember the case of the ranchers who almost had their land seized by the government for some dubious reason. So by your logic, America is clearly not capitalist. Look, you can argue all you want or you can take the word of a citizen of Nigeria, millions of citizens, and the hundreds of domestic and multinational corporations who operate here. Yes, we have corruption but the tenets of capitalism are still upheld here far more than in most other African countries and that is why we get a lot of investment here. The only main issue holding us back is infrastructure and the aforementioned corruption.l but if you own land or a farm, our government is not the type to seize it like say in Zimbabwe or Venezuela. But believe what you want.

@corysmith3447 Well no. If anything you are not really disproving what he said. He states that monogamy is not the norm for humans evolutionary-wise as it is a relatively new social system like agriculture. But he also goes on to list the benefits of monogamy to human society and how it helps us in so many ways like ensuring stable societies and promoting greater parental investment in offspring that ensures the viability of any society that practices it. A lot of practices go against basal and primal human nature but that does not mean we should just get rid of them outright.

I truly admire Doctor Peterson. Though he is not a conservative, and is critical of our side, he is very open to dialogue and engagement with us because he knows that we, compared to the left, are more willing to have discussions despite our differences.
