  1. As a Nigerian, i hope the fallout in Syria will hinder Russia's ambitions here in Africa. They helped topple democracies in the Sahel. They now control the resources in these countries and use then for their war. Their actions have increased insecurity and economic hardships. Heck! A new t*rrorist group threatening us in Nigeria, called Lakurawa, has formed and is made up of fighters from Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso after tgeir coups.

  3. @Christophernbh  unfortunately. Don't get me wrong. The issues these countries had with relations with France were there but they could have remodeled their terms. These countries frequently have coups where democracy ends, they have instability periods, then they redefine their relations with France and then democracy returns after the Juntas fumble. I feel the same will happen this time too. The Juntas only did what they did for personal power. France still has a presence here in Africa (their military and ours in Nigeria frequently hold joint sessions to combat insurgency) and will likely use new diplomatic strategies.

  4. Stuff like this always makes me glad my country, Nigeria, was created/colonized by the British and not Arabs. We have issues and a long history of problems but nothing as bad as what Arabized Africa has.

What Russia is doing is basically just usual "diplomacy" that even China and some western countries do but some of these countries are better than others😕. While these Sahel three, who allied with Russia, have a history of instability, they usually tend to work fairly well under democracy and given history, allies of Russia don't end up doing well for their people in the long-term, as shown by Assad

  11. Sad but true. There's a reason those of us here from countries colonized by the British tend to be more stable and prefer to follow their model compared to the hellholes colonized by Arabs.

  14. @Darkest_matter  sadly, Burkina Faso is not that stable, especially after the coup. They, like Niger and Mali, are now hotbeds for insurgency and a lot of that is now pouring into the rest of West Africa e.g. Lakurawa t*rrorists. The only thing they have is propaganda like lying about paying off their debts but they still owe millions for foreign aid and development money. They also imprison or conscript or delete anyone who speaks against the junta.

  20. Just goes to show that culture, values, social systems are more important for q country's stability and development than simply geography and resources. Oman was wise todevelop and embrace a better version of Islam and their culture made their economy and country just better too, especially with what they got from Portugal. Yenen just did everything wrong.
