  2. Don't worry, friend. I experienced that golden era. As a kid in Nigeria in the 2000s, I frequently watched great cartoons like Bruce Timm's SUperman and Justice League series and got my first view of what a super hero should be. Thankfully, I didn't experience woke American versions until I arrived here and it still revolts me. These days, i just stick to manga for my escapist fiction because they still tell traditional hero's journey stories there.

  4.  @davidalangay1186  I fully agree! Those shows are part of the reason why Superman is my favorite super hero and the most popular superhero in my country, besides Spiderman. Yes, you read that right. Superman, the white one, Clark Kent, is one of the most popular super heroes in Nigeria because we just like great characters and hate tokenism as much as anyone else.

  8. SUch an unlikable, mean spirited and b*tchy character (basically a western feminist's wet dream) and she was NEVER like this in the cartoons I used to watch of her as a kid in Nigeria. At this point, if anyone wants to read/watch a story with strong (physically and otherwise), well written, and developed female charatcers just watch anime and read manga! That's what I do. Western media has given up on doing them right ever again.
