  1. Western media will NEVER give a hero's journey to female characters. Why? Because a hero's journey entails struggle, personal responsibility, self-reflection, loss, hard work, and eventually triumph but that requires female characters to be treated as people in "current year" progressive woke culture and that will never happen, except in anime and manga.

  2. Than God anime and manga exist. I recently got into both and they are satisfying my escapist itch. They are devoid of wokeness and identity politics and where they do feature ideology and politics, it is used to enhance the story not to push "the message". Marvel and western entertainment can go shove it. I'll give my money to the Japanese.
