As a Nigerian, I say God bless the British for developing their fleet and abolishing slavery in much of Africa by defeating the slaving Arabs and other slaving African tribes.

@salhimoussa4930 Yes, you Arabs didn't take Africans to America as slaves but you did far worse, practiced slavery longer, and were far more brutal to African slave, European slaves and Arab slaves. Also, the British and most Europeans freed their slaves after moral humanity prevailed and they had to fight you guys to abolish slavery.

Don't let it be an issue, friend. What your ancestors did has no bearing on you. My ancestors in Nigeria were slavers who performed human sacrifice too. It's the same for many of us here but we don't care because it's all in the past. It's cool to learn about, though.
