Oh man! Growing up in Nigeria in the early 2000s, I was always fascinated with strawberries as a kid. All the cartoons I watched made them seem to be the sweetest and most succulent of fruits. Part of my fascination was also due to being born and raised in a tropical region of the world where strawberries are a luxury imported product. When I actually did eat some strawberries at an airport my dad took me to, I was kinda disappointed. They are quite sour and almost a bit salty. Well, needless to say I still enjoy them but mainly as syrup or flavors in ice cream.
