  1. Since my childhood in Nigeria, I have always been raised to be prepared for the worst. Even as I am in America for college and work, I still do that. There is inflation already in South Dakota where I am staying and grocery prices have been increasing but I get around this by buying only raw vegetables and meat in bulk and also avoiding brand products. I am now stocked full with family-sized laundry and dish detergent, family-sized toilet paper, family-sized flour, multiple cans of tomatoes, two value bags of rice and a box of raw chicken thighs. All of this cost me less than what most people pay in restaurants but it has been worth it, especially given the current shortages.
