  1. This was inevitable. Animation maybe some parts art but it is still a business and should be operated as such. The moment these animation studios went all in on "artsy" and ideology driven instead of focusing on good stories, marketability and profits, they were doomed. Sure, Adventure Time and Steven Universe (the main culprits) had a lot of fans (in the wrong unintended demographic) but they also were largely unable to merchandise those shows and you need money to keep making shows, regardless of how much of an "artist" you are. I don't blame Zaslav at all. WB is in dire financial straits and has been for decades. What he is doing is necessary. Sorry to those who lost jobs but I blame the idiots who messed up the animation sector before they came. If we get more stuff like OG Ben 10, Hey Arnold, As Told By Ginger, Jimmy Neutron, etc (shows that were well written, had good moral themes and messages, and were marketable) western animation will be in a better place than where it has been for a while now with lazy ideologically divisive Cal-arts derivatives.
