As a black person who actually loves fantasy and has read LOTR and the hobbit, I hate this tokenism. They could have easily used the Haradrim characters (a race of black people who are warriors, pirates, merchants and sailors) that Tolkien created in the amazon show if they wanted more racial diversity but I guess race-swapping dwarves, elves and hobbits is more appropriate........Just more insulting tokenism and mockery to actual black people who like fantasy and all it does is inspire more vitriol towards genuinely good diverse characters.

2:35 As a Nigerian and a new Star Trek fan, I can't believe one of my people had a hand in making this trash😞

Occam's razor. Since answer is Zack Snyder does not make many good films. He has a few good ones and does visuals well but is terrible at writing, pacing, plot, characters, etc. You can be his fan but don't be deluded about his quality of work.

Who was this "movie" made for?! Most of us who grew up loving teh original animated movie, especially Nigerians like me, didn't ask for a race-swapped, poorly written, and nonsensical plot live-action version of Little Mermaid! Honestly, this just insulting and pathetic and disney and co trying to use the "diversity" excuse and accusing anyone critical of this turd as a racist is just disgusting. I hope it bombs. I'll stick with my blu-ray of teh original.

@ThatAnnalisa thanks 👍

@luminyam6145 I love Quinn's videos. The guy really helped get me into more DUNE books. He is representative of a general trend among many scifi/fantasy fans; especially us black ones. We don't hate diversity but we do hate identity politics and tokenism.

@crakhaed 😂 Nice one. But yeah, many of our names here are quite a mouthful when translated to English. It's what you get when traditional African tribes had to embrace English or other western languages.

I am SO EXCITED for this film. It will be so bad it's good🤩 Seriously, as someone who grew up in Nigeria in the 2000s with the Disney renaissance and loved it, I enjoy these awful woke trash "live action" disasters because of how laughably bad they are. I usually force my younger siblings to watch pirated versions of them just so we can all cringe together and laugh at how bad they are🤣

In the next decade, an entire generation will be bigoted and honestly, that's probably a good thing😕 Too much tolerance leads to problems.

@LezShouldBeKing lemme explain my point. Cultural pendulum has swung so far left that it has turned off normal people and antagonized them. Now, it is gradually shifting away from the left. It will likely shift to the far right but only for a while and then normalcy will re-assert itself. That's 👍

If you want a good example of a story with a deaf main character, watch/read the anime/manga of Sign of Affection👍👍 None of the woke western garbage in it.

As a Nigerian fan of Star Wars since childhood, I am done with disney star wars😒 I am done with toxic identity politics, garbage writing, and antagonism towards fans. I refuse to even pirate their garbage. I'll stick with Lucas era shows and movies (currently rewatching Clone Wars by Genndy and Feloni) and the EU novels. The only good stuff post Disney are the Fallen order games

No worries. I'm Nigerian and we can't stay mad at you Brits😊 You guys are awesome. Although, you really should fix the wokeness thing in your society because it's hurting you guys.

@toolegittoquit_001 Well said. I am Nigerian and even I am surprised more westerners don't know how instrumental the British were in ending slavery.

There's some throw-away line about her running away from home and joining the army as a teen. Still makes no dang sense😂
