  1. Yeah, sorry but America (especially the CIA) get way too much credit for the past and current stagnation/destabilization in Latin America. The USA is only sporadically involved in Latin America and the peek of that involvement was between the mid 1800s and 1900s. The poor government and socioeconomic polices of Latin American countries (borne of the failed policies of Spain and Portugal) are what have resulted in much of the problems plaguing the region today.
