Instability in the Middle East is clearly a feature, not a bug😕 Even if westerners never came there or modern Israel didn't come to be, the region would still be unstable due to their geography and especially their culture.

@typiclyjohny5114 exactly. Heck, considering how these countries ended up fighting/expelling Palestinians despite "Arab solidarity", you are right.

@joking801 yes, you would. Based on history, you would like past caliphates and then immediately fall into infighting or lose to a more socially and economically and militarily developed society and culture😕

49:35 Typical. One weird aspect of Arab culture is this lack of self reflection or introspection. They will ALWAYS seek to blame others or save face rather than ever consider/admit they made mistakes and need to do better😕 It's not even an Islamic thing since Muslims in Turkey, Southern Nigeria, Indonesia etc have no problem with introspection and will wisely admit when they need to change for the better. It's clearly a cultural thing

18:58 As a Nigerian, I am not even remotely surprised that these people needed to be forced by external powers to "end" slavery. It's ingrained in their culture🤮 But it's also one of the core reasons why the region will remain unstable. Societies that have such practices rarely embrace modernity or development and they deserve their failure.

@chalkh no, they don't😕 They just sigh with indifference because they have accepted this basic truth. I live in Nigeria and frequently hear radicals talking of establishing a "caliphate" but all I see is them mostly destroying their states, oppressing citizens (mostly Muslims) and just being destructive. I am just tired and indifferent. If they want to destroy themselves, whatever. Just leave us normal people alone.

34:10 Mauritania......One of the last places on earth where slavery is still nationally and culturally practiced😕

45:45 Thank God for this development. Last thing we in sub-Saharan Africa needed was more toxic Arab (especially Arabic militant and radical) influence here. See Sudan and Somalia to understand my point.
