@aminulhussain2277 I never said they were rare. i said the father screwed up by not informing the staff the special order was due to allergy reasons. They removed the peanut butter but they cannot account for trace peanuts or other nuts in other ingredients. How is that hard?

@awatcher4965 No, they are not. People also have preference reasons for not wanting certain foods. That is why they have to specify if it is due to allergies. Have you actually worked in any restaurant in a cooking job? I have. Many people were ordering burgers with lettuce as the bun but most did it for preference and the keto diet, not because of celiac disease. And those who did had to specify it was due to allergies.

@Uifon Then by "standard logic" anyone who orders a burger without pickles, onions or even buns either has an allergy to those vegetable or has celiac disease and couldn't possibly be doing so due to preferences like say the keto diet. Muslims who only eat halal meat must also be potentially allergic to pork and not doing it for cultural/religious preferences. No. There is no such "standard logic" like that. You have to state these things so the staff can either suggest alternative meals for you or use specifically set-aside ingredients and utensils for you.

@Uifon Yes, peanut allergies are quite common. It is also common sense to state food allergies of that nature and not just leave it to chance by assuming everyone knows who has a common allergy. Diabetes is also common but I doubt you assume everyone who drinks coke zero/diet coke, black coffee/tea is diabetic.

@NeoBluereaper If you have a food allergy, you mention it. You don't just assume others will automatically know. And they put no peanut butter in the milkshake, as the father confirmed. It was trace peanuts in other ingredients that caused this. How are the servers at fault? So what about about people who order burgers with lettuce as the bun for keto diet reasons? What about people who order diet coke or black coffee for preference reasons?

@thelink6756 I do make drinks for people. But besides that, what does that have to do with anything? He said no peanut butter and they put no peanut butter. He never mentioned allergies and it was trace peanuts in other ingredients that caused the reaction. If you have any food related allergy, common sense dictates you mention it and not just leave it up to chance.

@mariatereza6083 Um, madam you do know that eating a high fiber diet with veggies like peppers is actually a good way to reduce hemorrhoids, right? I think what you meant to write is chilli sauce. Also, yeah, if any food can cause health problems for you tell the restaurant so they know how to properly accommodate you. That doesn't mean bringing in your medical records. It just means simply saying "I cannot eat.......due to medical reasons. Please take note"

@casusbelli9225 I am not sure what $15 minimum wage has to do with anything I typed. All I said was that the father screwed up by not specifying his son had a peanut allergy. The servers complied by not putting any peanut butter but there are trace peanuts in other ingredients. Had he specified, they would have offered an alternative milkshake with no trace of peanuts.
