As a Nigerian, I agree that France deserves harsh criticism am for their terrible diplomacy in Africa but I also refuse to support the overthrowing of democracies for military dictatorships because that has never worked for us in Africa. And worse, actually inviting groups like Russian mercenaries is even worse than anything. Russia and other anti-western countries are not allies to Africa and their own imperialism will be much worse for us.

As a Nigerian, it is surprising to me how some westerners and even some Africans actually think most of us in west Africa support this coup and other recent ones We are appalled by it and we know how it will lead to insecurity and increased social and economic problems for all of us. Already in Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso, their coups by the Wagner group and local military thugs, have ledto increased insurgency and poverty for local citizens.

@TonySwaby212 how about you come to my country and live here and experience the Islamic insurgency from Niger, Chad, and other of these could places? Don't waste my time. If me and my country looking to ensure our security is your definition of a "weak link", then God help you.

@diawaraoussey9091 and how has that worked for them so far? Islamic insurgency has gotten worse in Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso since their coups. Their economies have also gotten worse and the citizens are negatively impacted. Where is all the new weapons and funding from these places you mentioned?!
