  6. Not sure I wholly understand your question, but if A = B then certainly |A| = |B|. I know you want the more rigorous argument, but if you think a bit more about it, I think you can resolve the issue yourself.

  7. He built that up from the axioms of set theory? Axioms are exactly assumptions. Not sure what to add. I don't exactly see what your hang-up is.
