  1. These marriage stats need to be carefully scrutinized. Many men and women have chosen poorly in who they marry. That is the issue, not the institution. These totals are also buffered by the number of people that marry several times. It stands to reason that if they already failed/ quit in marriage, they are likely to do so again. The divorce rates of “repeat wedders” is off the charts.

  2.  @marvinidler2289  I think this whole issue is hyperbolized. It doesn’t take into account what is going on inside marriages. Most people, contrary to fallacy, tend to marry within their socioeconomic realm. The notion of the attorney marrying the CVS employee is silly. This “debate” is loaded with half truths and propaganda.

  5. Those are people who actually “live” their faith. The Amish have long marriages as well, because they adhere to principles and standards, that serve the family, not self absorbed hedonism.
