@ Understood. We could argue about who we like as actors until the cows come home, and it ends up as subjective taste. There was a mystery to film stars. But they were also actual “film stars”. Like him or not, Cruise is the last movie star.

You can loathe their politics, but all three have made great films. The problem with celebrity is that we were never “meant” to know these people. The only connection we need is with the screen. I never knew a thing about Newman, Mitchum, and Brando. I got what I wanted from them.
