Over eighty indigenous tribes were destroyed between 1900 and 1957, and the overall indigenous population declined by over eighty percent, from over one million to around two hundred thousand. It is estimated that of the 2.5 million indigenous peoples who had lived in the region which now comprises Brazil, less than 10 per cent survived to the 1600s I dont need a stupid museum reminding me of these!

You can read all about the opression in the school textbooks! you dont need a museum since its burnt down...now lets move on to reality and face the harsh problems of poverty, rioting and robberies and crime in the poor areas of the slums of Brazil rather than crying over some burnt old museum showing how Brazilians were murdered by White Colonial Tyrants!

I rather understand how to alleviate the crime and poverty that has befallen the country on its poor citizens and rectify it..lets live for now and plan the future, not for what happened 200 yrs ago! Crying over a burnt museum is not going to bring it back again! But crying over whats happening to the country can help bring about a change! South America is in trouble now, economic and currency woes have hit its neighbours, no time to cry for a museum already done and in ashes...

  7. you have a point, arsonists must have looted the place before setting it on fire, if it was foul play! but then again it clearly boldly underlines my voice in saying we need to get to the bottom of high poverty and crime rates in the country...so i wasnt a full blown idiot afterall!

  8. Mehmed i just have to go to the jungle and interview some jungle people and they will give me a ton of accounts of the Colonial killings and oppression of their tribes, no need for museum artefacts....there are jungle people we can interview and recount history..
