sadly it seems it had to happen, not just to stop the war and more death but to deter anyone else from using nukes because at some point later one nukes would have been used and probably far more in an all out nuclear holocaust, once you know the U.S. isn't afraid to use it's nukes and that the technology is 100% as advertised then you hesitate to use your own, throughout history good innocent people will have to die before necessary change happens that will save many, like the Titanic sinking forced ships to become far safer, if only dozens died on Titanic then nothing would have changed and ships would have continue getting bigger and bigger until 10,000 people drowned on a ship 4x the size of Titanic, anyway the Japanese spirit is amazing, Germany as well..somehow humans rebuild and carry on, Ukraine will somehow do the same one day, forgive but never forget
