gotta respect him, not really any other actor that has his intensity and well....balls to do that stuff when tom does movies, he learns things, acquires actually skills, he's the real deal
25
teeth? damn

This poor guy, so many films he couldn't enjoy due to his knowledge, haha

the best thing about cats is they don't want to be trained

Ever seen The Final Countdown? They basically filmed that on a carrier with the crew..pretty damn legit aside from the silly story..which is still fun, and The Last Detail was pretty real. I'll have to see Cruel Sea. Most of my favorite Navy films are ones on subs. Run Silent Run Deep, Das Boot, Crimson Tide..but I'm way more into the old war films.
3
yeah but only the ny mafia is entertaining

@boeitnie1185 check out the labrador canada accent

By the way, someone hire Terry Hollands to play a damn bank robber.

yes, the strongman

On Gravity, how could they spend all that money and all that time creating scenes that are physically impossible? I mean how did they all miss the physics (imagine the reference material they must have went through to get an idea of how best to replicate the environment and situations) and still not bother listening to a physicist etc or go or hire one? They must have had quite a few experts helping them with this movie..so they must have just totally ignored them to make the scenes work rather than just tweak the script. It's a shame.

I still just don't understand why T-Rex arms are so tiny and Smilodon's teeth were so long. Seems more likely they were in the process of evolving larger arms rather than devolving...and how would a Sabre Tooth even use those teeth? Creatures all looked like science experiments back then, as if God were tinkering around with different parts of his toy collection. Honestly, that should be the next "jurassic" park film. Bringing back the giant mammals of the past. Heck, just give me a time travel film where they travel back to that time.
1
@sorrenblitz805 I just can't imagine a creature on two legs needing its arms less and less to the point they are useless twigs-in proportion, but I guess when you cover the T-Rex in feathers then it makes sense, evolving from a flying bird into basically an ostrich

let's make America healthy again, 77% of youth between the ages of 17 and 24 cannot qualify for military service...it's fkn embarrassing
1
narrowing it down to just 9 must have taken a ton of effort, thanks
1
such a crazy story how back in the day after a whale sunk the Essex leaving them stranded at sea in 2 or 3 boats and to avoid an island they believed was full of cannibals (people always believed that for some reason) they went another direction, a much longer direction..and ended up eating each other, it's always sunny=10/10 hahaha
1
Little known fact, we/U.S. have accidentally dropped nukes 10 times. Luckily they never went off..thanks to safety measures. Anyway it's sad when movies based on actual events get things so wrong. What a shame and disservice.

@aios1671 I'm talking about an actor of Tom Cruise caliber and fame, Jackie is at the tip top in terms of actors doing their own stunts but he''ll never come close to something like an Academy Award, he's famous for his stuntwork, he's a stuntman first, he's a stuntman who acts, Tom doesn't have to do his own stunts but does them anyway, Still, there's things Tom has done that Jackie hasn't, respect that, kid

@sean_d I AM THE SHORE PATROL! Hey I just found out about a newer film called Hunter Killer. I haven't seen it yet, but it looks alright.
1
@sean_d haha, well I figured it would be entertaining and not much else, typical Gerard Butler film, I'll check it out eventually, I still gotta catch up on some classics

armageddon never gets high marks and never will

I was in that Delayed Entry Program, got sent off a week or so later, but at MEPs the stripping down in a room together with a ton of people and duckwalking etc is all legit. And those processing days are the worst. You're just a little piece of dirt guinea pig for 2 weeks or so. I think it's a real shame that bootcamp is shown in documentaries. It's something that should be sacred and it weakens and bastardizes the affect and truth of it all. You need to show up clueless to what is coming. I went in back in 2001, because of 9/11, I didn't even know what a SEAL was. Haha, man I'd love to have at least tried that out. Boot camp was pretty wild then..with the new war kicking off, and all our mail had to be checked for anthrax. People forget about the anthrax attacks right after 9/11.
1
jeez, and some didn't even need it
1
that redford film is fantastic
1
seems like you'd die from constipation pretty quickly out there on a life raft, right?
1
one thing I've learned is that Kubrick gets the highest ratings, he didn't screw around with authenticity
1
dang, howard hughes still gets no respect for his insane film
1
no that MEPS scene is 100% accurate
1
watch the smash brothers, so brilliantly funny

I'd love to see a TV series where experts like these who have never gotten a chance to use their knowledge on the battlefield come together with other experts in various fields in a WW3 type setting. I remember The Colony sorta did something like that but this would be so much more interesting. Or at least make a movie like that. That's all I ask. Maybe professors at a college decide to protect their school/students/town from a Chinese invasion...that's be cool. Steal my idea, make the movie...but make it good, and with actual American actors.
1
I want to see a film where this guy time travels to ancient times and gets to lead an army..in effect changing history because he'd win. haha, shoulda had barry lyndon on here, and don't get us started on that game of thrones battle...we're still dealing with season 8 trauma, Rome would have been a great show to critique, and there's this really great show on Netflix called Roman Empire
1
When you make these videos, could you just leave out the comic book superhero bs? thanks
1
No Point Break and Snatch? Are you kidding me? Attica! Attica! Attica!
1
but it wasn't about making them look like savages, just done that way to make them look more humble and hungry for freedom, still, when it comes to history it is offensive to those that lived it, I can't imagine being a director and having experts tell you things were done or worn a certain way yet you decide to have them look this way, might have just been a budget problem..I doubt it though, look at 300, where it's guys in underwear..haha hollywood craps all over history for a little shock and awe
1
put some koi in there
1
What about periods attracting bears? haha That bear sniffing for the woman behind the tree is funny, I mean a guy can smell a woman a mile away, yeah you're covered in 5 type of flowery smells and Brittany Spears Fantasy, we smell it
1
