  35. private ownership needs to be allowed but with very strict requirements, they're all getting poached and encroached into extinction and there's not much we can do about it in those foreign countries that don't give a damn about their own animals so atleast we can still have a breeding population here when things inevitably do go bad and they will prohibition just makes things worse, it funds criminal activity, owners that have nowhere to run to and who are doing everything illegally aren't going to get their animals the proper care, we have the land and the money in the u.s. to share, there are people that can provide the right environment for these animals, even better than in some of their natural habitats, we shouldn't let a few assholes ruin something so important, there are thousands of bigcats in the u.s. and you never hear about them, you only hear about the bad cases, these animals are born in captivity, you're not going to sell a wild animal and captive animals are much more suitable through generations, so tossing them back into the wild won't work yes these animals deserve to live in peace in the wild but those days are practically long gone, make private ownership something to be proud of, require thorough credit and background checks, tons of proper training, far more suitable enclosure requirements, enough of these poor fucks living on disability with tigers in their small backyard bullshit using big cats like a poor mans ferrari, they'd never get a permit then, if only the wealthy can afford to own them then so be it, it's a huge long-term commitment financially, these animals are going extinct in the wild but it's not because of pet owners, those animals are here to stay, it's because of deforestation for our food, it's human encroachment because our population keeps growing, and it's because stupid people that think their bones are made of magic, they're worth more dead to these people than alive, before we know it there will be no breeding population in the wild but hopefully we'll have some here so we won't have a tazmanian tiger problem again, and stop declawing your cats you assholes!
