  20. I think it's such an interesting fight, well it's interesting for many reasons, but one of the reasons is it reminds us of the early days of the UFC. Why? Well because even though these guys are skilled in modern mma, it's still basically wrestling vs boxing. In most matches we don't feel that way because these two are masters at fighting a certain way and that's basically all they do. The UFC pretty much started with karate vs Jiu Jitsu and that's what this is like. Many times we've seen wrestlers and shootfighters fight kickboxer types. Coleman nearly had Maurice Smith submitted pretty easily until he got tired and lost. But then Bas beat Randalman who is a phenom wrestler..but only won by points. Then Randalman beat Crocop who was a scary kickboxer. The dominant Khabib-like Mark Kerr monster lost both times to the insane killing machine Igor V. who was a kickboxer. But the difference is Khabib has more stamina than the giant wrestlers of the past. You give the kickboxers weight and give the wrestlers stamina and who wins then? It probably evens out and the outcome isn't much different. What fighters of old best resemble Conor and Khabib though? Maybe I went too far back in time. Really maybe the best comparison is Lidell vs Couture or Lidell vs Ortiz because here we have a talented one of a kind striker vs two talented strong wrestlers with stamina and vicious ground and pound that loved to put on the pressure and even throw a punch. And Liddell beat them both, finished them both, twice each with his fists. The initial fight with Couture he lost, but Khabib isn't as good of a boxer as Randy was.
