  7. that is freaky, sad that it didn't have a chance at life, it's like the time a wildebeest was born and I don't even think it touched the ground before a hyena snatched it, nature is...well it just is and there's no way around it

  10. I was thinking that as I've seen vids like this before, but unless it's a buffalo then I don't think the parent will come to help. I mean those are the only ungulates I've seen return to help on in need. It would make more sense for the leopard to kill this animal before it attracts larger predators. So yeah I think it was just playing.

  11. remarkable animals, I mean leopards are basically the most capable and fierce feline there is and it made the leopard look like a cheetah, cats are on another completely different level yet the honeybadger somehow manages to be on a level above them

  12. yep and they all did until 1 didn't haha, well to be fair it looks like half a dozen of the mature males brought it to the leopard, I just don't see how that leopard had such tunnel vision to not stop sooner, those are some big dudes he ran into, but leopards just don't care sometimes, no fear

  16. Wow, the buffalo actually killed a lioness. I mean that's extremely impressive and rare. But ya can't roller skate in a buffalo herd. If there's a hell, that's what it must be like. RIP

  25. both big and thick animals...but the rhino has some major weaponry, we all remember what that rhino did to the buffalo that took it on, and from living in water the hippos legs must be so weak on dry land

  29. off camera the lions were waving the hippo in so they could play chase, but they hippo didn't fall for it sad that the lion didn't have his brother's back and just ran off, haha

  32.  @NannupTiger  Elephants have a lot of weight in their head, like a pendulum (they do this with younger giraffes), so the lion clings onto its head to hopefully and eventually cause it to lose its balance and fall onto it's side where it will be hard for it to get back up with an elephant on top. Not impossible to get back up but harder than for other animals. I think it depends on the lion, some become experts at certain ways of killing while others may just gnaw on it's back in a team effort to exhaust the animal. It can't smother it but I'm sure it can clench it's jaws around the elephant's throat and kill it that way. Some cats can do this while the elephant is standing which can also exhaust the elephant. Exhaustion is important on keeping the elephant down. It would be a great kill for sure. An elephant can step on the lion but lions are agile and buffalo are a lot more dangerous than a small elephant. I'm pretty sure that lioness has taken down elephant before, seems confident enough to try on this one. I think the lioness probably just miscalculated how injured or sick the elephant was. It is a rare sight to see but I think the hardest part would be eating it while other predators are wanting a piece.

Some cats are instantly great mothers, some need work or maybe had a traumatic pregnancy (who really knows what brain damage a cat may have and how that affects its thought process?), or sometimes the cub just can't make it. Polar bear and pigs will eat theirs if they need the food...that's life.

I wonder if the leopard knew it was a cheetah or just figured it was an invading cat, it must have known because I can't imagine it approaching a leopard or lion like that, I wonder if it knew by smell since daytime eyesight ain't that great, although It probably just recognized the movement and knows how other cats move, but then if it knows a cheetah's movement or silhouette then it knows how easy cheetahs are to scare off...then again why not have fun chasing a harmless cheetah? so yeah I think it was just wanting play around a bit, I'm pretty sure it wasn't hoping to get lucky and eat it, from my understanding big cats don't eat other big cats

  37.  @fillfinish7302  Yeah I'm always interested in how well cats identify one another, especially their buddy or mate when the wind isn't blowing them a scent. I think they just don't take chances and get ready, because in the daytime their eyesight is more based on movement. But in low light as we see here, the cat can actually sees pretty well regardless of movement. If it were sunny it would be a lot harder to see. So he was just scaring away competition I guess. Nearly all animals can scare a cheetah away. haha. Plus I forgot about urine. That cheetah might have marked the area and the leopard was aware that way as well.

  39. pets to not own, chimps and hippos, I'd feel safer with a lion or hyena, hippos are the most lethal animal in Africa I think, they'll kill you in the water, they'll kill you on land..

  40. yeah when someone leaves the vehicle then everything changes, but they pay no mind to vehicles, they know humans are in them and will use them and the road to their advantage though, tigers seem different in the way they see vehicles though, they'll chase them and jump into them

  41. I think that's more the case. I think animals have a harder time understanding something like how much of a chance the rhino has once it's free. It sees an animals that's barely moving. While it's in the mud it appears as though it's already nearly dead. In a humans mind we think that hey once it's free it will have time to recover, which is right in ideal settings..but in that world you don't really get time to recover. I think the elephant sees it a bit like a climber in the death zone of a mountain sees a person lying on a frozen mountain "beyond saving". Yes in that area they are done for. But the truth is that once you get them down the mountain a bit they'll likely recover enough to survive. Problem is however getting them down is very difficult and something that climber can't imagine doing. And in the wild everything is risk vs reward. Every minute is survival. The rhino made one mistake and that was it. The elephant probably felt sticky or sinking in that mud as well.  @millertas

  43. Yeah sometimes quills can become embedded in a paw, once that happens it can become very difficult to hunt, quite a few big cats became man-eaters due to quills becoming embedded
