  1. Not the first time and always comes down to pushing out ground breaking research for continued funding. Most recent was the big news announcement that true fusion was achieved getting more energy out then put in. It was hyperbole. A just in time achievement or discovery to justify funding… An infamous one is the Bell Labs Jan Schön scandal on semiconductors. Working at Bell Labs, management expects technical achievements in timely matter so they can be apply for a patent. Schön was under pressure to make radical discoveries and forged all the data for years. Maybe some thing needs to change in the process so people as less incline to cheat.

  2. It’s going to be worst now to detect fraud with AI and since anyone can use Google Map Streetview and photos to see most locations in the world. I was able to virtually walk the grounds of The Taj Mahal without ever visiting India from my home on Lake Erie.

  3. Yes, the plagiarism is just minor errors in citations. It was her answers at a committee of Congress that got her in trouble. Politicians showboat too much at these hearings. Tellung them they should resign in such a public way was a bit much. What should gave been said was finding Gay's anawers unfortunate and disturbing. They are there to testify under oath.
